Both Nicklas Bendtner and the Brazilian midfielder Denilson confidently announced they were looking for new clubs at the end of last season, and despite looking far and wide for a new home they have both found out it is not so easy to find someone to take them off Arsenal’s hands.
It seems that Wenger tried to give Denilson another chance by taking him on tour to Malaysia, but after he walked off with the hump after being substituted against Malaysia it looked like he had overstepped the line once too often.
So now it seems his fate is sealed, and without an outright buyer it is being reported that Arsenal are talking to his old club in Brazil, Sao Paolo, about a one-year loan deal, with Fluminense also said to be interested…..
The not-so-Great Dane and his father must be feeling rather deflated after talking up moves to some top German and Portugese teams but finding nothing but denials and uninterest from all and sundry.
Now it seems that David Moyes is willing to give Bendtner a lifeline, but with the lack of any transfer funds at Everton, he is also looking at taking him on loan for next season. It will certainly be interesting to see if Bendtner can really start knocking in the goals in the Premiership if given a regular start in Everton’s first team.
I certainly hope he does impress, because then perhaps Arsenal can find a buyer next summer!
